All freight and other charges invoiced under the terms of the Bill of Lading are to
be prepaid in the currency of the invoice issued by the Carrier or its Agents when billed.
Collect shipments can be accepted only by prior agreement in which case the rate of
exchange applicable for the vessel and fixed by the Carrier, in accordance with Rule 3, shall apply.
Both the Shipper and Consignee of the goods or articles shipped shall be liable jointly and
severally for all unpaid charges payable on account of a shipment pursuant to
applicable tariffs or NRAs including, but not confined to, sums
advanced or disbursed by the Carrier on account of such shipment.
